When I read Blyton’s Five Children and It to my daughter, Beatrice, we talked about the Psammead for months; the wisdom of the wishes the kids made and what she would wish for. Now Beatrice is a teenager and, occasionally, the “Naughtiest Girl in the Synod.” If I could, I would ask the Psammead for Beatrice to be 7 years old for a day. But this book might be a nice alternative.
